The Carbon delivers a punchy performance with tight bass and balanced tonal control. It features a removable stylus for easy replacement. 24 V Synchronous Motor The first entry-level Rega turntable to use a 24 V, synchronous AC motor with a new motor PCB and aluminum pulley offering low noise and better speed stability. Advanced EBLT Drive Belt The Planar 1 includes a custom made high-quality Advanced EBLT drive belt, moulded on Rega’s highly accurate custom tooling using a unique secret blend. Once moulded, the belts are cryogenically frozen and barrelled to remove any excess flash in order to create perfect cross sectional roundness which is critical for accurate speed and stability. In normal use and conditions, the lifespan of the EBLT drive belt is 50% longer than the previous model. A notable reduction in weighted peak Wow / Flutter measurements are produced by the increased accuracy and cross sectional roundness of the EBLT belt. The standard belt measures 0.253% / the Advanced EBLT measures 0.162%.Plinth Brand new matt finish plinth with vastly improved appearance and ergonomically positioned on/off switch located on the underside. Two stunning plinth finishes available, matt black or matt white. Central Bearing Housing Performance brass main bearing, offering improved fit and removing stress on the bearing itself whilst minimizing the transfer of potential energy (patent pending).
