Thanks to its 13” (33cm) speaker driver with ‘W’-shaped cone and very high excursion, as well as its BASH amplifier with 600W RMS and 1000W peak-to-peak power, the sound reproduction is more impactful and faithful than ever. COMPOSITE ‘W’ SANDWICH CONE The ‘W’ composite cone is made in France by Focal and allows the frequency response curve to be perfectly optimized. This cone’s unique characteristics of lightness and rigidity control the signal transmission speed within the material. The modulation of the structural foam’s thickness provides very precise control of the cone’s damping quality. When you’re listening, it creates total sound transparency, a very low distortion rate and an excellent phase response. INPUTS & CONTROLS Balanced XLR inputs are provided; Left and Right inputs and outputs for daisy chaining multiple subs and connection to powered monitors, as well as LFE input & output. 1/4 in & out jacks are provided for 2.1 bypass and Focal’s unique focus mode so the sub can be engaged/disengaged with a common foot pedal latch switch. At the back, a full set of bass controls can be used to perfectly adjust the settings for any system – volume, low-pass, high-pass and variable phases – making Sub12 a truly remarkable, highly adaptable professional grade tool. The Sub 12 ST6 has auto standby if it detects no signal and re-awakes once a signal is present. This mode is also disengageable should you want the subwoofer to be always on. CABINET CONSTRUCTION & FINISH The Sub 12 ST6 features a large laminar vent eliminating noise and distortion. In addition, there are optimized braces and a front vent inspired by Focal’s flagship Trio11 monitors, as well as internal and external vents to reduce noise and distortion.The cabinet sides is finished in a stunning red-stained swamp ash veneer that oozes luxury. Lastly, for greater practicality, large handles on the sides of the cabinet allow this 126 lb sub to be easily transported by two people.
